Quality Assurance
Standards and Accreditations
Students studying at the Academy can receive City and Guilds certificates in a range of highly specialised subjects. This means that they receive the very highest quality training and also can receive internationally recognised professional qualifications, which will support their future careers.
From the perspective of corporate and public sector bodies, it is important that these qualifications are recognised as having significant importance because, by virtue of the fact that they are independently verified outside of the employer’s organisation and are fully auditable, they represent an excellent means of support for an employer’s duty of care to its employees.
The ITA range of qualifications also represents a great way to show your people just how valued they are by providing them with a structured path for Continued Professional Development.
Every one of the Academy’s own courses is based on British military doctrine and adheres to:
- NATO Standardisation Agreement (STANAG) 2370, The Principles of IEDD
- NATO Standardisation Agreement (STANAG) 2389, The Minimum Standards of Proficiency for Trained EOD personnel
- United Nations Mine Service International Mine Action Standards (IMAS)
- European Union Competency Standards for EOD
- National Occupation Standards for EOD
- Security Industry Authority standards
Across the group, ITA also works to the following standards:
- ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- ISO 18001 Health and Safety
- Investor In People (IIP)
